The Comfort Zone
Hey All, I wrote this in July of 2018 but I am posting it now… I’ll be doing that from time to time.
We all have a personality that helps define who we are; it is our comfort zone. One thing I’m learning as I grow is that our personality can either propel us or hinder us as we try to move forward. But something of us is always required to change in order to grow. Usually that thing we must change is what makes us most comfortable. For instance, I am about to marry my love in less than a month and he is going to be a pastor one day. Right now he is a college minister. I love watching him work and help organize things. But as his wife, I won’t be able to sit in the background any longer. I can’t only help behind the scenes or watch from afar,
I must fully jump into it.
This has been a challenge for me that I wasn’t expecting. I am outgoing, and what not but when it comes to really being an example to someone it seems i’ve just been freezing up. but I realize that it’s not about me, it’s about supporting my husband and being there for the people. I do this by being open, talking to others, getting to know them and their needs. Being in my comfort zone keeps me from being that smile someone might have needed. Staying and talking to someone might give them the strength to move forward and I would have never known if I just stayed in background and watched. So, I challenge you to step out of that comfort zone, no matter what it is.
It’s another day, another chance to move forward.
“No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,”
